Until Dawn, il celebre horror a scelta di Supermassive Games, riceverà una nuova versione aggiornata e migliorata per PS5 e PC nel 2024.
Ballistic Moon si sta occupando della nuova versione, costruita da zero con l’Unreal Engine 5. Non si tratta né di un vero e proprio remake né di una remaster. Non si tratta né di un remake completo né di un remaster, ma Ballistic Moon ha rivisto il gioco con una nuova terza persona e una nuova colonna sonora.

Until Dawn è uscito per PS4 nel 2015 e vedeva nel cast il futuro premio Oscar Rami Malek e la star di Scream Hayden Panettiere. Il gioco vedeva un gruppo di amici riunirsi in un rifugio di montagna dopo la morte di un amico avvenuta un anno prima. La riunione si inasprisce quando forze esterne iniziano a dare la caccia al gruppo uno per uno. I giocatori prendono decisioni in una frazione di secondo per influenzare chi sopravvive o meno alla notte, dando un’impronta da “film horror fai da te” al procedimento.

”Until Dawn has been rebuilt with the latest tools and techniques. New and improved animations build on the success of the original character performances. Characters, environments, and VFX have been upgraded – all for a truly enhanced cinematic horror experience.
We use a broader cinematic tonal color palette and new perspectives to make the story more nuanced and emotional. We’ve been brave enough to shine a light into the dark, unseen corners of Blackwood Mountain and added a third-person camera, which means you can now look behind the curtain of the original game, exploring enhanced and new locations with new interactions and collectibles.
Incorporating a third-person camera and adding contextual character movement animations, the game now allows the player to really feel the experience of that fateful night.
Until Dawn’s sound has undergone a massive overhaul too, featuring a new score from legendary horror composer Mark Korven.
We’ve endeavored to keep the fantastic narrative integratory of the original, but we have seized the opportunity to expand upon unexplored emotional parts of the story.”
